How to add Google Sync and Calender to your Blackberry

Some people still love to use outlook with their Blackberry. Others are forced to use outlook and hard wire their device for sync at their place of work. Well for the rest of us that need a calender, want our contacts to sync, and obviously have a Google account there is Google Sync! Which by the way doesn't involve ANY WIRES! A.K.A. the Sh!ts wireless.

So on a Storm or a Tour (curve is similar), actually any newer BlackBerry, it is quite a simple little process. Let me break it down,

1. Go into your email settings and add your Gmail account. On a Blackberry that has never had an email or doesn't currently have an email attached to it your defaults for calender and messages will be setup automatically. If not you must go into options->advanced options->defaults and then change to your Gmail account.

2. Go to m.google.com/sync and download Google sync.

3. Open Google sync and click your BlackBerry menu button

and click options. From this menu enable calender sync, contact sync, and reminder sync if you wish.

4. Now run sync!!! You will notice that you can now edit contacts on your PC as well as merge, edit, and delete entries. The system knows where you made a change to your account (device or computer). So you will never loose anything, unless of course you want to loose something or someone...

I have been using sync for a month or two now and I love it. When I worked for Verizon I would even help customers install it on their BlackBerry. Check it out, no more wires, it's the future...

True blood season 2, started and I missed it!

The 3rd season has come and gone in the blink of an eye. For those of you who have no idea what the Tudors is let me paraphrase for you.

Henry the 8th has around 8 wives throughout his reign. Most of which don't last long and end up either not producing an heir to the thrown and being killed in one way or another (beheading) or they do produce a son and die by natural causes.

The first season was a set up with tons of sex, old school English politics, war, death, and slaughter. It's Showtime so they bear it all and spare no nudity or gore. Leading to more of the same but much better in season 2. Season 3 was VERY short with only 8 episodes.

Storm OS Update is official!

Sunday, May 31st at 3pm EST. .148 will be available!

In order to upgrade over the air (OTA) you will have to wait until around 10 PM, then go to Options>Advanced Options>Wireless Update

OR

Go to www.blackberry.com/update (around 3 PM)

I recommend doing a backup with your desktop manager first, just in case.

Some updates for Storm owners who don't know about Crackberry!

Well First things first...

With the talks of Storm 2 all first gen Storm owners were about ready to throw in the towel on their slow, non responsive, testy operating systems. And then (and then, and then, and then) there was a light at the end of the tunnel! May 31st, a quickly approaching date, is rumored to be the release of 4.7.0.203! OTA or desktop download I don't care! I just want Verizon to approve an OS! I have tested 90% of the leaked OS's (Operating systems) and liked most of them, definitely like .148. So put on your fragging upgrade hat and get ready to backup, double backup, and wait 30 mins to load your new OS!
Software Update For VZW Storm Owners May 31st?


The second thing being the Storm 2. Crackberry has reason to believe that the second gen Storm will come out in the next 6 months. Lets step back and look at this from a sales/marketing point of view. Your product (1st gen Storm) isn't getting great reviews and you need to improve this. Why in God's name would you try to push it off the shelf and completely replace it with a new product less than a year after the 1st gen release!?!?!?!

They will wait until at least late December/Christmas before attempting to upset current Storm owners. Yes, we all want a better product. No, we do not want to be put in the corner and slapped like a red headed step child! Let me help you help me Rim & Verizon...Hook a brother up! I sell your phones so get you junk in order. K thanks.
